Muzaffarnagar. Chand alias Chana alias Chandu was injured in a police encounter on the Sambhalhera canal road in the area of the Meerapur police station in the district. There are about 23 registered cases against Chand in UP and Uttarakhand.
The injured scoundrel is a resident of Inchauli in Meerut. On Thursday, he was riding along the canal track with his companion on a bicycle. The police tried to stop him, but he fired at the police and ran over the bike.
In retaliation, Chana was injured by police bullets, while his accomplice managed to escape. Police have recovered a bicycle and a pistol without a number.
