Muzaffarnagar. Players from Chaudhary Charan Singh Sports Stadium won medals at the 55th annual athletics competition held in Kanpur. Akshi Malik has been selected for the U-20 Junior Fed Cup National Championship to be held in Gujarat.
Athletics coach Shubham Baliyan said the competition was held in the under-20 age group. In the women’s category, Akshi Malik won a silver medal in the 100m and a gold medal in the 200m. Nipam Chauhan won the bronze medal in the 200m. The men’s 4x400m relay team won the gold medal for Muzaffarnagar. Sunny Baliyan, Ayush Baliyan, Himanshu Sharma and Lakshya Kajla won gold medals in the relay team. The women’s relay team also won the Muzaffarnagar gold medal in the 400m and the silver medal in the 1600m.
