iOS 16 will be released tonight for iPhone 8 and higher, but not all features of the latest iOS version will be available to every model. Some iOS 16 features, according to a report will be available for iPhone XS (or higher) powered by Apple’s new A12 Bionic chip. Although the reason is unknown, it is likely that certain features require more processing power to run than the A11 Bionic chips.
As per a Report 9to5Mac explains that iOS 16 features will be limited to iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. iPhone SE (2020), iPhone SE (2222) and iPhone 12 Pro Max are the only options. iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are available. iPhone 13, iPhone 13 pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro Max are new. Some iOS 16 features will only be available for iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series models.
Some features are available on all of the above phones, including Live Text in Videos that works in Photos and Quick Look, Safari, as well as other apps. Live Text has Quick actions, New languages, Live Text can use emojis in text to send messages using Siri and Visual Look up improvements.
Live Captions is a feature of iOS 16 that will be made available to iPhone 11 and older models. It is only available in English and Canada. Additional iOS 16 features are available only for iPhone 13 models. These include foreground blur in portrait shots and enhanced quality when recording with Cinematic Mode.
Some iOS 16 features, however, are exclusive to the iPhone 14 models. The Cinematic Mode is 4K, which can record 4K videos at both 24fps (or 30fps) and 4K at 60fps. The new Action Mode reduces vibrations, motion and shakes by using the sensors of the iPhone 14 series.
