Muzaffarnagar. The accused father and son have been sentenced for the murder of Rahul alias Sonu 13 years ago in the area of Paldi village police station in Shahpur district. Additional District and Sessions Judge No-13 Shakti Singh will hear the issue of punishment on Friday.
Assistant Government Counsel Parvindra said that Mahendra Singh and his nephew Rahul alias Sonu, a resident of Paldi village, were returning home after defecating on September 7, 2009, at around 6pm. As soon as they entered the village, they were surrounded by Mukesh and Baburam son Ramchandra and Ravi aka Fondi son Mukesh. After this, Sonu was shot and Mahendra Singh was also shot. The villagers gathered at the noise, so the attackers fled after making threats.
At the same time, the family members arrived first at Muzaffarnagar and then at Meerut with the wounded Sonu. The injured died during treatment. A case was registered against the three defendants on behalf of Mahendra Singh. The hearing of the case was held in the court of Additional District Court and Sessions Judge No-13 Shakti Singh. Baburam died during the trial.
On Thursday, the court convicted the accused father and son. Mukesh, who arrived in court during the hearing, was detained under Section 309 of CrPC. While the defendant Ravi did not come to court during the hearing. Court has issued arrest warrants for the defendants. The issue of punishment will be known on May 20.
