After a dispute between the two parties over the placement of cots in the district’s Kakrauli village, the police arrested the accused nominee district panchayat member, Shahnawaz Qureshi. This dispute has been going on in the village for almost a month. Kakrauli Police Station self-arrested 9 defendants while registering a case against 24 named defendants and 30 unknown defendants in the sections of murder, stoning and assault on police.
In the village of Kakrauli, there has been a month-long dispute between the two parties regarding the disposal of animal manure. In this case, both parties met face to face on Tuesday night. It is alleged that people from both sides clashed over the placement of cots in the same place. After this, there were fierce stones being thrown at each other from both sides. When the police arrived at the scene, they also threw stones at them. It is alleged that people from both sides attacked and the police were also fatally attacked. The police registered a case against 24 people from both sides.
Inspector in charge Abhishek Sirohi told the media that the police have arrested the accused Shahzad, Musa, Anas, Pappu, Yakub, Shahzad, Shahnawaz, Kamil and Shahid. While 15 defendants including Umardraj, Waqar, Arshad, Irfan, Shad, Zeeshan, Wasim, Waqar, Arshad, Irfan, Liaquat, Faizan, Tehseen, Sajid and Javed and Naushad and Shadab went on the run.
After a fierce dispute in the Kakrauli village of the police station area, the Kakrauli police station arrested 9 defendants, including the accused district panchayat member Shahnawaz Qureshi in this case. Due to fear of protests and riots, the police arrested Shahnawaz and instead of keeping him at the Kakrauli police station, they took him to the Muzaffarnagar police station. Following this, Shahnawaz and other defendants were questioned.
District Panchayat member Shahnawaz Qureshi also went to jail three years ago in the cow slaughter case. A video had surfaced of Shahnawaz Qureshi waving at the police who had come to raid a house in Kakrauli with the information of the cow slaughter. On this basis, the police made the investigation and the then inspector in charge of the station was put on the line. After that, Shahnawaz Qureshi, the current district panchayat member, was arrested and sent to jail after being nominated in a cow slaughter case. Shahnawaz Qureshi also participated in the discussion on the issue of voting for a BJP supported candidate in the election for the District Panchayat chairman post.
